I understand that the show is focused on the Jersey Mafia so they have to make them look superior to New York(which is a fucking joke} but I still feel there were other ways to do it.
I agree,
but you have to remember that the show is told from Tony's point of view. He's the "anti-hero," for better or worse. To put him in a subordinate position would take away from the character's strength. Plus, David Chase is from Jersey, and I think that also plays into it. Call it hometown pride (however unrealistic it may be).
