I'm fairly certain only [ IMG ] links show in the preview, not Attachments...
This appears to be true at the present time; the more I think about it, the more I'm certain that Attachment images did preview at one time. I have two particular threads in mind that I posted a lot of personal images in, and I would not (or could not) have added the images if I wasn't able to preview them first.
