Gordy's former 'Motown Mansion' on sale for $1.395M Louis Aguilar and Christine MacDonald / The Detroit News Detroit -- The mansion made famous by Motown Records founder Berry Gordy Jr. and once hosted the likes of Stevie Wonder and Diana Ross is up for sale for an unofficial $1.395 million.
That's the initial idea, but the hope is to post an official list price Monday, said Kenan Bakirci, a sales associate for Coldwell Banker Weir Manuel in its Birmingham/Bloomfield South office.
Owner Cynthia Reaves confirmed the Boston Edison home will be put on the market in a few days. She declined to give the reasons for selling. The nearly 10,000-square-foot mansion was Gordy's home for many years.

Geez, Gordy was responsible for so many wonderful artists & groups back in the day. Everyone in Michigan was proud of the Motown sound. If not, they should be.
