The majority of America voted for this congress and this president. We are a republic not a democracy. The majority of Americans were also opposed to the Civil Rights Act of 1964 at the time. Should that not have passed? I didn't hear anyone from the right complain about the waging of the Iraq war while a majority of the people were against it. Bush thought it was the right thing to do, and he did it.

BTW the "majority" you referred to has all but disappeared since the bill passed into law, and as the lies and misinformation spread around by the right wing continue to be exposed, the majority will be in favor of it.

"Io sono stanco, sono imbigliato, and I wan't everyone here to know, there ain't gonna be no trouble from me..Don Corleone..Cicc' a port!"

"I stood in the courtroom like a fool."

"I am Constanza: Lord of the idiots."
