Declaring "co-winners" for a reason not having anything to do with sports performance is plain wrong.


I asked the same question, and received horrified looks from soccer parents, like I was the Unabomber. I always felt that the soccer crowd here in central PA feels superior to those playing other sports.

The picture of the team holding up the state championship trophy is memorable because nobody was smiling. I agree that the championship game is supposed to be played to a conclusion. There are great lessons to be learned from working hard all year to reap an ultimate reward, and an even greater lesson to be learned by working as equally hard, only to fall a bit short of the ultimate goal.
