The next day the school played for the state title in boys' soccer. It was 1-1 after regulation, and two overtime periods failed to change the score, so they and their opponents were declared state co-champions. Neither team was thrilled about the tie. One team got the trophy and the other received the gold medals.
That sucks. Why couldn't they do some sort of special event to determine a winner?
