One of the local TV anchors/radio hosts resigned his jobs and started running for Detroit City Council. He was the largest vote getter in the primary and was considered a lock for Council President.

However as it turns out his condo is in foreclosure and even before that when he was renting he had a long history of not paying bills. He had something like 11 separate eviction notices.

So the local papers withdrew their endorsements. But I don't think that will dampen support for him.

He was earning at least $240K/yr but as Council President would earn $85K/yr.

So the fair question is if you can't figure out how to manage your private money should you be trusted with the city's finances? But considering some of the current council members, Pugh still looks decent to voters..

"When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies but the pack survives."
Winter is Coming

Now this is the Law of the Jungleā€”as old and as true as the sky; And the wolf that shall keep it may prosper, but the wolf that shall break it must die.
As the creeper that girdles the tree-trunk, the Law runneth forward and back; For the strength of the Pack is the Wolf, and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack.
