Well they're old (deep 40s), had very active (punishing) wrestling careers, and without the boast shots and adrenaline, they're basically cripples at home in the morning I'm sure.

Smackdown so far has done terrific in pushing new stars into the main event scene in the last year or two, like Jeff Hardy* and CM Punk, so hopefully HBK and Taker aren't so vital to putting butts in seats. Jericho and Mysterio are always dependable main event-fillers.

Compare that to RAW, where it's the same goddamn main event: Orton, Cena, HHH. Maybe Batista, but...same 3-4 assholes. No new talented blood like MVP or Jack Swagger or shit even The Miz being gradually pushed into the main event. But Seth Green? YESSSS!!!! I mean come on.

Of course, you can't ever seem to keep these old wrestlers out of the ring, no matter what. Just ask Ricky Steamboat, retired for 16 years, came back months back at Wrestlemania with a very honorable, respectable capper to his career.

*=And he's apparently going to let his contract run out in a few weeks. Maybe he'll come back in many months from now or not...who knows? Maybe he's forcing the WWE to pay up big for him to return, which was what Jericho and Big Show did and got rich guaranteed upfront paydays.
