He said he didn't want it and that he wants to run for re-election in 2010 or 2012 or whatever. My money is on Andrew Cuomo...it removes a political threat to Patterson in his bid for re-election.

BTW why do they have to have someone from upstate? I don't remember any upstate NY senators. RFK, Damato, Schumer, Hillary Javits all from down state.
