I think that we're living in one of the best and most exciting periods in modern music, you just have to actually rely on yourself to research bands and emerse yourself into the underground music scene--going to see one band of what we call an "independent" stature means seeing the other three or four bands that are touring with them, all of which could be potentially great.

I could name well over 100 bands that are currently active, and absolutely fantastic, it's just that none of them would be found on radio, television, or what have you.

It's not that modern music is uninteresting, it's just that modern mainstream music isn't very interesting.

"Somebody told me when the bomb hits, everybody in a two mile radius will be instantly sublimated, but if you lay face down on the ground for some time, avoiding the residual ripples of heat, you might survive, permanently fucked up and twisted like you're always underwater refracted. But if you do go gas, there's nothing you can do if the air that was once you is mingled and mashed with the kicked up molecules of the enemy's former body. Big-kid-tested, motherf--ker approved."
