I agree with you, SC, and feel sorry for the bus driver, but can't help thinking about his poor judgment. Do you know of a reason why the parents couldn't stay at his home for the three hours? It seems so avoidable.

It reminded me of the stories where parents would accidentally leave their infants in the car, only to return to the car, horrified to find their dead child. This scenario usually involved a father, who normally did not take the baby to daycare, forgetting to stop at the daycare and driving straight to work. An innocent mistake, but oh, the gravity of the consequences.
