Correct. Chuck Howley was also the only Super Bowl MVP from a losing team.

Good guess on Randy White, goombah. He played a little before your time, but he wore #54, which was a linebacker number. He shared the '78 MVP award with felow defensive lineman, Harvey Martin as you said. Martin is the only Super Bowl MVP, who is deceases, having died from pancreatic cancer 6 or 7 years ago.

A linebacker, who played well enough to win an MVP in the Super Bowl was Rod Martin, who picked off three Theismann passes to help the LA Raiders beat the Redskins in the mid-80s. Marcus Allen, however, set a rushing record in the game that was broken a few years later.

I thought White was a LB, but you have jogged my memory Klydon. Dallas was my #2 favorite team after the Browns, particularly in the Staubach, Dorsett, Too Tall Jones days.

I think you confused Rod Martin's performance with the one vs. Philadelphia. True, he returned Theismann's errant pass for a TD, but Martin picked off Jaworksi thrice. More useless info in my head... shhh

You're right, goombah. My memory's going. smile
