The sad thing is, I am doing some marketing consulting for a client of mine. It's .8 of a mile from my house. I could easily walk there, but there are no sidewalks, it's a fairly busy road, as it's near the entrance to the NYS Thruway, and I think I'd be taking my life in my hands. When they built suburbia, the downside of such things was not thought of, and the complete and utter dependence on the automobile was not a priority. I don't think anyone could have envisioned that it would be a problem.
