I think Vito was the best by far hands down because he was extremly smart, was empithetic to the loyal man, but could have a ferocity unmatched by anyone...I think he had the perfect characteristics to be a man in his postioin he knew how to play everything smoothly and always made poeple money and happy.

Not to mention he built to Corleone Empire which I've heard was like the Roman Empire in it's Prime
