It can't possibly be Don Ciccio. That actor was obviously already in his late 50's at the very least ... even in the early scene when Vito's mother is killed.

Anyway...why on earth would they have hired an actor in his 30's to play a character who is probably 20 years older. This was Hollywood...not a high school play.

I think it might be the actor who played young Don Tomassino, who aided young Vito in killing Ciccio...and was then crippled by the gunshots while escaping.
