I've never been a fan of RPGs, avoiding them like the plague, but for this one I made an exception.

Being obliged to play it, as it was a birthday present from my brother a year ago, I was skeptical at first, having no patience for Roleplays; being more a shoot em up person. However, in no time, I became hooked.

The game takes place 4000 years before the movie. Avoiding highly clichéd storylines, while the skeletal structure of a dark Jedi pushing for domination exists, KOTOR plays this tired structure out in a brand new way. The storyline is uniquely fresh, and littered with incredible twists. One of the best game storylines I have come across in any game. The game moves at a quick pace, as you carry out bounties, make deals, and work your way through six or seven planets. The graphics are nice, the environments carefully constructed and believable, and the characters rule. As a trainee Jedi, you know little about your past (till shocking revelations later on), training yourself gradually in the Jedi way. Your slightest decisions effect your inclination to the dark side or the light side...do you kill a troublesome individual or teach him the error of his ways?
The characters who follow you are unique and interesting, and should you follow an evil path, you may be required to murder several of them, a hard choice.

Not being much of a Star Wars fan, and far less so an RPG fan, I was bowled over by this game. BioWare have produced a great game that kept me hooked for weeks. 9/10. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes video games, whether you're a fan of Star Wars or RPGs.
