Kay would never let him near the family business even if he wanted it (unlike Moma Corleone who was a true Italian Mafia wife and accepting of the life of Don Vito and allowed probably unquestioningly for her youngest son to live it!!
Besides I dont think he had 'what it takes' you know what I mean :p
