Rome, ambush in Magliana Walter Garofolo, 55, a person known to the police and the Carabinieri for drug-related affairs was shot by two killers in a black Fiat Panda. Garofolo was hospitalized for observation at San Camillo where he underwent surgery. One of the three bullets fired by a man who got out of the small car hit him in the right thigh. It's not serious and the police may hear from him soon.
Garofolo has specific precedents and in 2011 he ended up at the center of an operation that led to prison for his brother Fabrizio and Simone Capogna. It was the Split investigation, with 137 kilos of hashish imported from Spain together with an Albanian criminal group. The deal went badly, the cargo was intercepted and the gang identified by the Financial Police. In the end, however, yesterday's injured man was acquitted of that charge.
