I dont think it's an issue of whether criminals are saints and rats are liars. I think it's the fact that the criminals or former criminals (merlino) on YouTube actually took responsibility and did their time without the usual blame game bs. People seem to gravitate towards that.
This may be your point but most people do not care about their integrity as a rat or a stand up guy. They just wanna hear stories and get insider knowledge which is only going to come from a rat who has already confessed to their crimes. I also personally don’t care too much about whether a rat is more of a scumbag than a non-rat. They’re all criminals and I just like getting insight into that life from people who know better than I do.
