The Court of Review of Catanzaro has issued a surprising decision regarding the case of Pasquale Forastefano, the alleged leader involved in the international anti-drug investigation called "Gentlemen 2". All ten charges against him were quashed following the referral by the Supreme Court of Cassation.

Forastefano was among the 25 arrested as part of the "Gentlemen 2" operation, accused of being the main exponent of an international association dedicated to drug and weapons trafficking. However, the Court of Review decided to annul the charges after the Supreme Court accepted the appeal presented by lawyers Pasquale Di Iacovo and Cesare Badolato.

Forastefano's lawyers have raised various criticisms regarding the solidity of the evidence presented by the prosecution, in particular regarding the use of the Sky-Ecc cryptophone. The “inconsistencies of motivation” regarding the defendant's use of the device led to the decision to quash the charges and send the case back for reconsideration.

This is not the first time that Forastefano has found himself involved in a trial of this magnitude. Already in 2022 he had been subjected to the harsh regime of 41-bis as part of the "Kossa" operation. However, this time the verdict was in his favor, and the Review Court ordered his immediate release from Parma prison, where he was detained under the harsh regime of 41 bis.
