3.4 tons of cocaine intercepted in the port of Antwerp
Belgian Customs seized two large shipments of cocaine in the Waasland port in Antwerp during the end of the year. This concerns a total of 3.4 tons of cocaine, the FPS Finance reported on Friday.

Ecuador
On Friday, December 22, Customs discovered a first shipment of 1.24 tons of cocaine in a container on a ship that had arrived from Guayaquil, Ecuador.

Uruguay
The second batch of 2.16 tons of cocaine was found on Thursday in a container on a ship from Montevideo, Uruguay.

Both parties have been seized by Customs. The Antwerp Federal Judicial Police is conducting further investigation into drug smuggling.
