By arresting the leaders of the gang, with the "Garden" investigation, the financiers of the Economic and Financial Police Unit at the DDA believe they have decapitated the Borghetto-Latella gang which was historically federated to the Libri mafia family while in recent years it is in fact a more autonomous group that controls the Modena and Ciccarello districts, in the southern area of ??Reggio Calabria.
Part of the investigation concerns the relationships between the 'ndrangheta and the Roma (Gypsy) community of Ciccarello which, according to the investigators, is no longer laborers at the service of the clans but, as in other territories of Calabria, is transforming into a real gang.
