Prime Minister for one year
The breakup comes just before Giorgia Meloni celebrates her first year as Prime Minister of Italy. A first year in which the opinion about her premiership, after the initial skepticism, is mainly positive. Due to her past as a member of the youth movement of the neo-fascist party MSI, Meloni was viewed with suspicion, especially by the foreign press.

After a year she turns out to be a hardworking, sober and right-wing conservative politician who stands up for her homeland. And despite slip-ups by ministers from her cabinet and her now ex-partner, Giorgia Meloni is as popular as ever. Her party - Fratelli d'Italia - continues to grow steadily in the polls and is easily the largest party in Italy with 28 percent.
