Armed commando from the Netherlands arrested in Antwerp

The Antwerp police arrested seven Dutch people on Tuesday evening who may have been part of an armed commando that was on its way to retrieve a shipment of seized cocaine. Customs announced on Tuesday that several tons of cocaine had been seized in the port of Antwerp.

The Gazet van Antwerpen writes that on Tuesday evening a black minibus with a Dutch license plate was stuck on the IJzerlaan in Antwerp, near the port. Seven men were arrested. According to local residents, they were met by the Antwerp police, who had been on the lookout for hours. There were several sports bags in the minibus.

The police take into account that serious drug criminals were on their way to retrieve a shipment of intercepted cocaine. A large shipment of cocaine was seized in the port of Antwerp on Tuesday. The drugs are stored in a customs warehouse near IJzerlaan.

The exact amount of cocaine seized has yet to be weighed. The drugs were hidden among a batch of soy meal from Sierra Leone.
