In February 2020 Giuseppe Graviano was heard at the “'Ndrangheta massacre” trial, then underway in Reggio Calabria , in which he was accused of the murder of the carabinieri Antonino Fava and Vincenzo Garofalo which occurred in 1994 [22] . He recounts in detail the relationships that historically link his family to Berlusconi , known and frequented by the Gravianos even before he took the field with Forza Italia .

Graviano stated that his family, starting from his maternal grandfather Filippo Quartararo in the early 1970s , invested tens of billions of lire in the real estate sector with Berlusconi, with a starting share of 20 billion lire collected with other Palermo families as a of financiers. The first meeting with Berlusconi took place at the Quark hotel in Milan in 1983 , together with his grandfather Filippo and his cousin Salvatore Graviano (known as Salvo ).
