A new charge of attempted murder for Francesco Candiloro, the 44-year-old from Calabria, but resident in the Brescia area for over twenty years, who in October 2021 was arrested on charges of being a 'Ndrangheta killer and was convicted in the first degree to life imprisonment. According to the investigators, the man, who led a double life as a minority partner in a pastry shop in the city , had killed Marcello Bruzzese, brother of a collaborator of justice, on Christmas Day 2018 in Pesaro.

Although he had no precedent, he was considered "unsuspected but has a high-level criminal profile". He is also charged with the crimes of receiving and possession of common and war weapons which, according to the investigations of the prosecutor of Brescia Teodoro Catananti, the group to which Candiloro belonged would have wanted to use to kill a former member of the Cosca Crea. a further sentence of six years and eight months had been handed down .

The commando
In the early hours of today Candiloro was reached in prison by a new precautionary custody order , issued by the investigating judge of the Court of Catanzaro, at the request of the local Public Prosecutor's Office - District Anti-Mafia Directorate - directed by the Prosecutor Nicola Gratteri. The measures were issued against four subjects - two in prison and two under house arrest - seriously suspected, in the various roles attributed to them, of the attempted murder of the Reggio Calabria entrepreneur Pasquale Inzitari, on the evening of 25 July 2017. , in addition to Candiloro, by Michelangelo Tripodi, Gianenrico Formosa and Antonio Domenico Scarcella.

The Killer Expedition
According to the reconstruction of the investigators that evening the killer commando went into action in the square of the "I Portali" shopping center in Corigliano Rossano , after having carried out several inspections and studied in detail a plan to kill the entrepreneur. The members of the commando had waited for him in the parking lot, where the firing action of the criminals had begun, which had not been successful only due to the prompt reaction of the victim, who had taken refuge in a shop. The investigations made it possible to demonstrate that the "expedition" had been carried out with the aim of facilitating the mafia activity of the 'Ndrangheta and made it possible to identify as alleged perpetrators Francesco Candiloro and Michelangelo Tripodi, responsible with Candiloro for the murder of Bruzzese.
