The Spanish police found a submarine off the coast on Tuesday, which was probably used for the illegal transport of drugs.
Footage from the Guardia Civil shows divers investigating a small submarine, which is suspected to have been used for drug smuggling. The vessel was tipped up in the water off the coast of Galicia.

The Spanish police are working to lift the submarine, near the port of the town of Vilaxoán. The so-called 'narcosubmarine' was found on Monday by a skipper who followed a trail of diesel oil until he found the partially sunken vessel. It is said to have been used for large-scale drug smuggling a few weeks ago.

The vessel would be of the same type of construction as an earlier ship found, reports a specialist Twitter user. In 2019, 3000 kilograms of cocaine were intercepted off the coast of Galicia in a similar submarine.

In 2021, a nine-meter-long U-boat that looked like it was found under construction near Malaga.

It is not clear whether drugs are present on board this copy.

Smuggling under water has been going on for a long time.
