If it is up to the judiciary, Henk Rommy, better known as 'the Black Cobra', will spend 22 years in prison for giving the order for the double murder of Henie Shamel and his girlfriend Anne de Witte. The public prosecutor made the demand in the presence of the suspect, who insists that he is innocent of the murder of the well-known diamond dealer and drug trafficker in Antwerp.

According to the Public Prosecution Service, the statements of key witness Giuseppe La Serpe are an important part of the evidence. The criminal made the statements in 2006. Other suspects in the murder of Shamel and De Witte were convicted partly on the basis of that evidence. Justice does not see him as a co-perpetrator, because he was in Maarssen at the time of the double murder. But according to the prosecutor, he is guilty of incitement.

Jesse R. and Moppie R. would have worked for Henk Rommy. They were both convicted of, among other things, the double murder in Antwerp. Crown witness La Serpe would have heard from Jesse R. that liquidating was cheaper for Rommy than paying.
