Salvatore "Turi" La Motta, the man suspected of killing two women in Riposto, in the Catania area, committed suicide with a firearm near a police station. According to what has been learned he was having an extramarital affair with the first victim, the woman murdered in a car on the Pantano seafront. The man committed suicide in front of the police station in Riposto. Investigators believe it is probable that he did it with the same weapon with which he allegedly killed the two women. The 63-year-old was a lifer on premium leave. He had been convicted of mafia association and of a murder committed before 2000. He was detained under semi-freedom: he worked during the day and returned to prison in the evening. Today was the last day of a one-week bonus leave
