The sentence of the Cassation has been postponed to 28 February for Massimiliano Sestito, accused of the murder of the boss Vincenzo Femia.

Sestito escaped from house arrest from his home in Pero, in the province of Milan, in the night between Monday and Tuesday, just before the hearing. He had been under house arrest with an electronic bracelet since the beginning of January. The man has already served 30 years for another murder, that of the police officer Renato Lio in 1991.

At the end of the closed session, the judges of the first criminal section announced that they would postpone the decision on the appeals presented by the defense of Sestito and the co-accused Francesco Pizzata against the conviction issued in October 2021 by the Rome court of appeal.

In the morning the general prosecutor of the Cassation asked for the confirmation of the sentence of life imprisonment for Sestito and 24 years and 8 months for the other defendant.
