Amedeo Gennaro Raniero Matacena, shipowner and politician, died in Dubai on 16 September 2022 a few hours after celebrating his fifty-ninth birthday together with his last partner, Maria Pia Tropepi, 41, also born on 15 September and married to Amedeo second news that appeared last August.

At the time of his sudden and unexpected death, Matacena had been on the run for nine years and three months.
