Imagine my surprise to learn today this film is not in fact based upon a true story but is rather fictionalized. I'm not sure why the Coen Brothers lied to the audience at the beginning of this film but it's still a masterpiece nonetheless. Very happy to see William H. Macy win his Oscar for his memorable performance as Jerry Lundegaard. Fabulous storytelling throughout with a dynamite cast! 9/10
