That kind of stuff hit home w/ me cause as I have posted b4 , my closest & favorite uncle was a tail gunner in a or many B-17 missions over the Pacific theater..during & after Pearl Harbor..when I was a little kid , I remember him telling me how " we were so high up in the clouds , nobody could see us & then we emptied the nest"...."all the eggs were gone down below"...I was dumbfounded...he passed in 1984 @the young age of 64...but my Uncle Jim was a true Man of Men..big as an ox..and an exact duplicate of Burt Lancaster...& a proud Irish - American 2 boot!!!
