The United Holy Crown
Umberto Bellocco, a prominent figure of the 'Ndrangheta, known as "Assu i mazzi ", at the beginning of the Eighties had the audacity to oppose Raffaele Cutulo's new organized Apulian Camorra and thus created a new criminal organization: the Sacra Corona Unita.

In June 1983 he was arrested in Lecce in Puglia, and was sentenced to 3 years in prison for illegal possession of firearms. Later he was also accused of several murders, extortion, drug trafficking and mafia-like criminal association, but was acquitted in many of his trials. He was eventually sentenced to 14 years for drug trafficking. In July 1988 he was released due to the expiration of the terms of detention and took to the hiding.

In 1991 he became a member of the interprovincial commission established the same year after the Second 'Ndrangheta War. When UImberto was arrested, he took the place of head of his cousin Gregorio Bellocco.
