PINOCCHIO (2022)

A live-action adaptation of the original source material, Tom Hanks is magnificent as Geppetto. This is the type of live-action film I wished I grew up with. Full disclosure, I am biased to the original cartoon as it was one of my favorites growing up. A few casting decisions can be called into question (I'll leave you to decide those) but Keegan-Michael Key also deserves a much deserved shout out to his all too brief rendition of Honest John. Outside of that, this follows the typical Disney formula where much of this is a shot-for-shot remake of the original cartoon while the CGI is next level! Still another exceptional experience from director Robert Zemeckis. 7/10
