SANTA VENERA - The Maltese police have arrested a 42-year-old Dutchman. He is suspected of possessing large amounts of cocaine and heroin, with a street value of one and a half million euros. This reports the Malta Independent.

The man has been under police surveillance for some time. When the man was arrested in the town of Qormi, he was in possession of 5 kilos of cocaine and 4 kilos of heroin. Not much later, a search of his garage also found 380 thousand euros in cash. He is suspected of importing, smuggling and possessing prohibited substances. He was also charged with money laundering. The Dutchman is still in custody.
