The court in Arnhem had confirmed the ban on motorcycle club Hells Angels pronounced by the court at the end of 2020, and the Supreme Court is now also doing so. The club's activities are contrary to public order, a ban is necessary, the court ruled at the time.

The civil case against the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club Holland was brought by the Public Prosecution Service as part of the widely deployed civil battle against the so-called Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs (OMGs) in the Netherlands. According to the Public Prosecution Service, the motorcycle club 'glorifies and facilitates' violence and other crimes. Several clubs have been banned in recent years.

The Hells Angels are by far the oldest motorcycle club in the Netherlands. The ban also means that Hells Angels are no longer allowed to wear their 'colors' (club clothing) in public and the separate departments can no longer use the name.
