In the coming weeks, public prosecutors will pronounce the indictment in the Marengo trial against Ridouan Taghi and sixteen co-defendants in the secure court in Amsterdam-Osdorp. Ten days have been planned for the indictment, on June 28 the officers will conclude with the sentences. According to the Public Prosecution Service, the seventeen suspects have been members of a criminal organization that has committed six liquidations and made four attempts to liquidate people. In addition, there have been three liquidation preparations and two attempts to detonate an explosive device. One of the suspects is crown witness Nabil B..

Wednesday morning the suspects were obliged by the court to come, only Saïd R. followed the case via a video connection. The public prosecutors realized that the room was full of suspects, but that relatives were completely absent. According to the officers, there was not a single next of kin who dared to exercise the right to speak.

It concerns the relatives of spyshop director Ronald Bakker (59), Samir Erraghib (36), Abderrahim Belhadj (29), Ranko Scekic (45), Martin Kok (49) and Hakim Changachi (31). Four of the victims left behind (young) children.

The judiciary came to the conclusion that there was one network that was led by Ridouan Taghi. And the judiciary also concludes that more murders have been committed than were charged in the Marengo trial.

Justice believes that every member of the organization bears full responsibility for what has happened in the name of the organization. "So there is no innocent or insignificant contribution in that regard." It seems that later in the indictment, the judiciary will state that in many cases the suspects committed the murders together, ie co-perpetration.

After the indictment is completed on June 28, pleas from lawyers for the suspects will follow after the summer until the end of 2022. In addition, the court is dealing with the pending case against Saïd R., who is accused of the same facts. The trial will certainly not be completed in 2022, the suspects may hear the verdict in 2023.
