'Ndrangheta: Pittelli returns to house arrest
Benefit granted by the Court of Vibo Valentia

(ANSA) - VIBO VALENTIA, 09 FEB - The lawyer and former senator of Forza Italia Giancarlo Pittelli returns to house arrest.

The benefit was granted to him by the Court of Vibo Valentia in acceptance of the petition presented by the defenders Salvatore Staiano and Guido Contestabile.

Pittelli is a defendant in the "Rinascita Scott" trial, underway in the bunker court of Lamezia Terme, resulting from the investigation conducted by the Dda of Catanzaro on the 'Ndrangheta clans of Vibo Valentia and is also involved in the "Mala Pigna" investigation on some organized crime groups of the Piana di Gioia Tauro. A few weeks ago Pittelli had started a hunger strike.
Pittelli, who is among the best known Calabrian criminal lawyers, had already obtained house arrest for the two criminal proceedings in which he is involved. The benefit, however, had been revoked last December after he learned of a letter he had written in October, sending it to him by post, to the Minister for the South, Mara Carfagna, in which he asked her for help in resolving the matter. linked to his legal affairs.
The Minister's secretariat sent Pittelli's letter to the inspectorate of Palazzo Chigi which, in turn, sent it to the Catanzaro mobile squad, then reaching the Catanzaro DDA. The same Dda requested and obtained from the Court the aggravation of Pittelli's prison condition for violation of the prescriptions imposed by house arrest.
