Brabant 'ecstasy king' Peerke S. arrested
The police arrested one of the most important leaders of the Brabant underworld on Tuesday. It concerns Peter 'Peerke' S. (59). He was considered by the police and the judiciary as one of the world's largest ecstasy producers and testified in the Passage liquidation process.

S. from Eindhoven was arrested along with seven other people. There have been raids on 14 buildings in Eindhoven, Valkenswaard, Bladel and Waalre, among others. The men are said to have been involved in the large-scale production of synthetic drugs. This is an investigation by the National Police.

'Peerke' was sentenced in 2003 to 13 years for worldwide ecstasy trafficking. According to the Public Prosecution Service S. was seen as the or one of the greatest ecstasy barons in the world.

The Brabant leader had only just been released in 2010 when his home in Eindhoven came under heavy fire with machine guns. A significant part of the more than a hundred bullets fired pierced S.'s home and adjacent buildings.

A major underworld war raged in Brabant in which people were killed, houses were fired upon and hand grenades were thrown. The shooting dominated the news for days at the time and caused mayors to sound the alarm in The Hague to do something against the drug industry and violence.
