GET OUT's been his best work. I think he may suffer like M. Night Shyamalan did for a bit where his best work was early on and the audience continued to expect each new film to be as good as THE SIXTH SENSE. But I wholeheartedly agree with you in terms of the virtue signaling. I'm not surprised this got the reboot though. It's Hollywood. All they want to do is re-establish existing IP's for "a new generaton" and just make reboots/sequels/prequels, etc. Especially within the horror genre, this has been the normal for the better part of almost 2 decades now.
