MULHOLLAND DR. (2003)

Here we go again with David Lynch. Betty (Naomi Watts, in a terrific performance), naive and wide-eyed, arrives in Hollywood, looking for movie work. She finds Rita (Laura Haring), victim of a car crash, taking a shower in Betty's aunt's apartment. Rita can't remember anything, but she and Betty become pals (and lovers) as they search for who/what/where, encountering the usual panoply of Lynchian bizarre and irrelevant characters and situations; spooky music, lengthy camera shots of empty tables, coffee makers, pastel colored walls, etc. Trying to make sense out of this plot is an endeavor as unlikely of success as trying to decrypt the Code of Hammurabi. But, the sheer weirdness of this movie held my interest to the end.

Ntra la porta tua lu sangu sparsu,
E nun me mporta si ce muoru accisu...
E s'iddu muoru e vaju mparadisu
Si nun ce truovo a ttia, mancu ce trasu.
