JUNGLE CRUISE

Another film Disney is itching to franchise, JUNGLE CRUISE finds Emily Blunt and Dwayne Johnson, searching the Amazon for a tree that has petals capable of curing any disease, or in this case, curse. Johnson and Blunt are great together, constantly feeding off of each other in every scene, and even establishing nicknames for the other early on. Surprisingly for Disney, some of the CGI was noticeably bad in regards to some of the animals used (and coming from the studio that houses Marvel and Star Wars, that's saying something). There's nothing new here except the same Disney formula, which still continues to work. Laughs, action, tenderness, Disney knows what they're doing and how to appeal to as wide of an audience as possible. I wouldn't be surprised at all to hear a sequel announced sooner rather than later. If you enjoy Disney films, you'll enjoy this as well. One last note, a missed opportunity for not utilizing the song Welcome To The Jungle by Guns N' Roses. I believe it was used in one trailer, but going for Metallica's Nothing Else Matters as opposed to GNR was a head scratcher. 6.5/10
