JOLT

Kate Beckinsale stars as Lindy, a woman who has difficulty controlling her anger and as such, engages in unbridled violence. To control her problem, she wears an electrified vest that she uses whenever she feels the urge to act on her uncontrollable impulse. The film is a cheesy rip off of The Incredible Hulk meets CRANK and it doesn't work on any level. Kate Beckinsale is an enjoyable actress, but she's so much better than the drivel this script provided. In theory, it's not a bad concept but it is so poorly executed. A low production value throughout, with obvious stage like quality, is distracting to the audience. Furthermore, there's nothing out of the ordinary going on here; just going through the same cliches that comes to a cringe worthy climax during a scene where Beckinsale's character is on the run from the police, attempting to escape from a hospital. Poor performances all around and throughout the film, it's more painful to watch than entertaining. Not surprising considering it's a Prime Original. 4/10
