Signora V. got a press screener copy (a link, actually) of that new documentary about Anthony Bourdain, Road Runner. She reviews for Irish Arts Online, so we saw it a couple of weeks ago, even though it only officially came out two days ago.

Fascinating, but ultimately, very sad because you knew how things ended up. We always watched Anthony Bourdain's shows and were shocked when he committed suicide. Such a shame, even though it seems he had been doing a dance with death for some time.

Two things that troubled us - the film seemed to make a case (possibly unfairly) that Asia Argento was what sent him over the edge into taking his life (she was not interviewed for the film), and the revelation that some of the Bourdain voice-overs were actually AI computer re-creations, and not Bourdain.

Still, even with those caveats, I would recommend the film. Absolutely.

My two cents, for what it's worth.
