The history of Cosa Nostra was to work with the blacks and bankroll them etc. Not necessarily take them over however, get in bed or prop up a black guy and control them through their own people.
I.E. Nicky Barnes etc...
That was Lucky and Meyer's day. I think when Vito Genovese (then ultimately Gambino) took over, that changed.
