I remember Donnie Brasco movie mentioning how wiseguys don’t bring up the thought of someone who got whacked but, I can only imagine the nightmares and mental anguish the crew went through.
Every BBQ or Thanksgiving you went to, when you see someone filleting the turkey, you have to block out the turkey being an actual human thigh.
A bullet killing has to be easier to block out.
I agree it would be easier to just kill them, but I find that the longer we research their killings the more the numbers change, usually going upwards. Chopping up one body would give a person nightmares, let alone more than that.
