Former Montrealer serving sentence in Miami for smuggling firearms, while alleged accomplice has court date Monday
Naomi Natal Haynes, the sister of a former Montreal street gang leader, was sentenced to a 7-year prison term in the U.S. in January.

The sister of a former Montreal street gang leader is serving a lengthy prison term in the United States for firearms smuggling, while her alleged accomplice, who was arrested on the Canadian side of the border, has a court date scheduled for Monday in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu.

Naomi Natal Haynes, 41, is currently behind bars at a federal detention centre in Miami as she continues to serve the seven-year sentence she received in January after she admitted to having purchased firearms from U.S. dealers, falsified documents and then smuggled the guns into Canada.

Haynes is the sister of Roy (Capone) Haynes, 45, the former leader of a Montreal street gang called The Outlaws.
