Joe Watts might've been a rat, but they didn't need him for Gotti they had the tapes and Gravano and his own big mouth. I figure at the very least they would've shelved him.
From my understanding it wasn't about putting Gotti away.
Gotti was already convicted and doing life in Marion.
He was running the family by sending messages through his attorneys to Jr.
He spoke to Watts, one time verbally from Marion.
Watts- was jammed up on that Weiss case.
So he gave the feds info on how Gotti was communicating to Jr. through the attny's.
Because Watts gave up that info Gotti, should have been let out of solitary after 3 years, but the feds kept him in solitary alot longer
Watts probably figured that no one would ever find out
Gotti was done anyway so who cared
