The person who was shot dead in Bergen aan Zee on Tuesday afternoon is, according to the police, a 45-year-old man from Colombia. The police were alerted at around 3:45 pm by several bystanders who had witnessed a conflict, after which shots were fired. After that there was a confrontation elsewhere near Bergen.

The witnesses indicated that several people argued with each other. One injured person was pulled into a gray car. The driver of this car then drove off at high speed. The other parties involved in the conflict got into at least three cars, including a white Mercedes and a dark-colored Audi, and also left at great speed towards the Zeeweg.
